Here you will find your digital assessments. There is an initial survey for the students and the teacher to gain an understanding of what you know, your opinions and how you feel about the topic that will be discussed. Often times, students enter into a topic with an already formed opinion that may shape the way the student sees that topic.
Unit: Taxation
When we study about taxation, students with families who own small businesses will have a different point of view from students whose families work for other people. Students whose families own property will have a different point of view from students whose families do not own property on property taxes, and where funds for the local public will come from.
There are formative assessments and summative assessments.
Formative assessments are a survey of what you know and you progress throughout our unit. It will check to ensure you understand basic vocabulary and ideas so you can continue to actively participate in conversation throughout the rest of the unit.
Formative Assessment
Throughout our taxation unit, there will be at least 2 1-page papers on how your business will be effected by what you have learned in class. How will your business be effected by local taxes and how it will be effected by federal taxes? You will also include what in the tax code/laws should be changed to help your business succeed.
Format: APA
Due date: You are free to turn in each paper whenever you are ready, as long as it is before the last day of the unit.
